LNC's SpringGarden Series - "Let Nature Do the Work"

 

This four part series teaches participants environmentally sound ways to get the most from their gardening efforts.

 

The cost is $60 for the series which includes a coupon for $25 off a rain barrel.  Cost per class for drop-ins is $20.  Reservations and prepayment required.

 

Call the NatureCenter at 458-1328.  Major credit cards accepted. All classes meet at the LouisvilleNatureCenter from 7 - 8:30 pm.

 

 

Thursday, 4/2, Gardening in Small Spaces and Organic Methods

 

 Learn techniques and design tricks for gardening in small spaces including container and vertical gardening and integrating edibles into ornamental landscapes. Get tips on organic gardening methods for reducing pests, increasing yields and improving the beauty and health of all your plants. Presented by June Sandercock. A member of Jefferson County Master Gardner Association.

 

Tuesday, 4/9, Composting and Vermiculture

 

Let nature take its course and build your most valuable garden asset, good soil!  Presented by Dr. Brian Barnes, who teaches sustainability classes and is a volunteer for several environmental groups in Metro Louisville.

 

Tuesday, 4/14, Introduction to Permaculture

 

Care of the earth and observation of natural ecosystems allow communities to reinvests natural resources back into the earth. This class introduces participants to a way of living in harmony with the earth that reaps benefits of beyond abundant bounty and beauty in their own landscapes.
